Sierra Leone – Strange Psychiatric Hospital

The civil war in Sierra Leone (1999-2001) is considered the most severe of the recent wars in Africa. Destroyed the city and lives. Killed tens and thousands of civilians, hundreds of thousands were raped, burned, given into slavery or maimed … Some patients are left only in a country hospital for the mentall illness suffered from the experience during the war. Others are due to drug use and alcohol abuse. Hospital does not have the staff and especially trained professionals. In 2006, the hospital made the repairs, and now patients have new beds and windows in the wards. Below you can see the photos, which made the Spaniard Pep Bonet in the psychiatric clinic in a poor area of ​​Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone.
