Tony Scott : Top Gun and True Romance director’s film

1. Tony Scott shot to fame with Top Gun, a film about the US fighter jets starring Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis.

2. Following Top Gun’s success, Scott found himself on Hollywood’s A list of directors.

3. Scott’s next film, Revenge (1990), a thriller of adultery and revenge set in Mexico, starred Kevin Costner (above), Madeleine Stowe and Anthony Quinn

4. Tony Scott teamed up again with Tom Cruise who starred alongside his future wife, Nicole Kidman, in the Nascar-set 1990 film Days of Thunder

5. One of Tony Scott’s earliest films was the 1983 film The Hunger starring Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie
