6. A Camera as Big as a New York Apartment

Imagine looking at a 24-foot photograph of your face, created with such detail that if you got up on a ladder with a magnifying glass you could inspect the angles at which your eyebrow hairs were growing.  7. The Man Who Hears Color

Artist Neil Harbisson is completely colour-blind. Here, he explains how a camera attached to his head allows him to hear color. Until I was 11, I didn’t know I could only see in shades of grey. I thought I could see colors but that I was confusing them.

8. Monkeying around with a crocodile at Al Ain Zoo

In search of fun, the monkeys swing down from their ropes and tweak the croc’s tail, before an almost imperceptible movement sends them scurrying away. If one of the monkeys were to get close enough to the reptile’s powerful jaws, it would be in a position to observe that they contain about 65 large and very sharp teeth.

The vervet monkeys have already started teasing a Nile crocodile since being moved to the same enclosure at Al Ain Zoo.

10. Food Project Proposes Matrix-Style Vertical Chicken Farms

Each year, the United Kingdom raises and kills around 800 million broiler chickens for their meat. These creatures are grown in vast sheds with no natural light over the course of six to seven weeks. They are bred to grow particularly quickly and often die because their hearts and lungs cannot keep up with their body’s rapid growth. Philosopher Paul Thompson from Purdue University has suggested “The Blind Chicken Solution” and “Headless Chicken Solution.”
