2. Police: Mom left kids inside truck while at strip club

A mother is facing child neglect charges after allegedly leaving her two children, ages 3 and 5, inside a car Tuesday night while she went into a popular Tampa strip club. Had it not been for the Mons Venus managers and a regular customer, Tampa Police said it could have been much worse for Brandi Jo Roman, 28, and her two children.

3. Mystery Hole found on Mars

What created this unusual hole in Mars? The hole was discovered by chance on images of the dusty slopes of Mars’ Pavonis Mons volcano taken by the HiRISE instrument aboard the robotic Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter currently circling Mars. The hole appears to be an opening to an underground cavern, partly illuminated on the image right. Analysis of this and follow-up images revealed the opening to be about 35 meters across, while the interior shadow angle indicates that the underlying cavern is roughly 20 meters deep.

4. Hospital employee accused of using dead patient’s credit cards

A Sarasota Memorial Hospital employee has been arrested for using a deceased patient’s credit cards to make purchases. The victim of the theft died in the emergency room of Sarasota Memorial Hospital on June 10. Within hours after his death, his three credit cards were used to purchase airline tickets, bridal shoes, pay phone bills and other assorted items totaling over $1,186.00.

5. Man’s p*nis stolen in his sleep

A man in China has had his p*nis stolen as he was sleeping. Fei Lin, in Niqiao village near Wenling City, told authorities that thieves entered his bedroom and covered his head with a bag before cutting off his p*nis, according to TNT Magazine. Police are pursuing the possibility that the attack happened as a result of a number of affairs Lin was allegedly having.

6. Farewell, Buckyballs: Consumer Agency Files Suit Against Magnetic Toys

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued its first stop-sale order in 11 years, saying the magnetic toys called Buckyballs “pose a substantial risk of injury to the public,” Reuters is reporting. The CPSC has been trying to curb injuries with this toy since 2010, when it issued a recall of Buckyballs intended for those 14 years and younger. But those efforts haven’t helped, the agency said when it announced that it has filed a complaint seeking to stop the company from selling the product.

8. Woman fined by her Home Owners Association for having brown grass during a drought in which watering restrictions were used

Lori claims she has been trying to get her grass to grow, adding: ”I’m glad to try to reseed again when it cools off, but we’re in the middle of a heat wave.” James Tanner, president of the Homeowner’s Association, says Lori was warned about the state of her grass last year and given a nine-month extension to fix the problem.

10. Instant karma? Nickelback Fan, Falls Into Gorge While Trying To Sneak In (hp)

Really, man? A 22-year-old man fell into a gorge while trying to sneak into a Nickelback concert on Tuesday night, the Times Union reports. Kevin Beaudette, of Tupper Lake, New York, wanted to slip into the Saratoga Performing Arts Center undetected to see the Canadian rock group perform, but instead fell 40 feet into the Geyser Brook Gorge, according to msnNOW.
