(CNN) – An impoverished South Korean gymnast has not only struck Olympic gold, but also reaped 500 million won (US$444,000) in the latest donation in a veritable rags to riches tale.
The owners of a Hardin area property that gained attention in the global spotlight in June 2011 for a purported “mass grave” are now suing the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and several media groups.
Joe Bankson and Gena Charlton, through their attorney, Andrew B. Sommerman, filed a lawsuit on June 5, 2012, in the 193rd Judicial District in Dallas claiming that the sheriff’s office and the media groups acted in reckless disregard and caused damage to the couple’s reputation and good name.
