Hidden Beach in Mexico Formed By Bombing

The famous “Love Beach” (Playa del Amor) also known as Hidden Beach is located in a crater on one of the Marieta Islands (Spanish: Islas Marietas), these are a group of small uninhabited islands a few miles off the coast of the state of Nayarit, Mexico.

The Mexican government started conducting military tests on these beautiful islands back in the early 1900s, since they were uninhabited. These tests included bombing and large explosions, causing caves and rock formations to be created. After massive international uproar, initiated by scientist Jacques Cousteau in the late 1960s, the government finally decided to declare the islands a national park and protected them against any fishing, hunting or human activity.

The Hidden Beach was originally formed by bombing and is now a popular tourist spot.

The second video shows how people visit the beach by swimming through the small entrance.
