Caterpillar Mimics Tarantula to Avoid Predators

David Weiller has captured footage of the Hag Moth’s (Phobetron Pithecium) larva, this spider mimicking caterpillar is know as the monkey slug. The fascinating hairy appendages are an effort to make the otherwise defenseless caterpillar appear to predators as an unpalatable Tarantula.
