  1. What says:

Your introductory paragraph is almost unreadable. I’m starting to think you guys are putting text through a free translator which would account for some of the nonsensical sentences you post.

  2. Gorgonnius says:

You miss brutal Spanish dictator Francisco Franco, who led in 1936 an uprising against a democratic government and started a civil war and post-war repression that caused around a milion of deaths.

His dictatorship lasted 40 years and had left Spain so profoundly divided that the traces are yet well visible nowadays.

    • Naiwen says:

Lol… dictatorship=unity, totalitarianism & democracy=separatism or power to people. XD How can a totalitarian leave something divided since he/she wants every in his/her hands? Very ironic.

  3. SlickR says:

Great list, you missed a few, but I’d say these are the major ones.

  4. Rhino G says:

you’ve made a really awkward mistake
the dictator’s name is Ho Chi Minh, City is, well, just ‘city’ (the dictator’s name, for some reason, was given to that city)

  5. Naiwen says:

And Rhino G, to you, he may be a dictator, but to the citizen, he was a Hero. And somehow forgot to add Geoge W.Bush. And why? Because the author of this article is one-sided, or biased himself or herself. Casualities in Afghanistan? And the prison Guantanamo in Cuba, still in operations.

    • Hoa Lee says:

Ho Chi Minh is 1 of moron dictator in the 20th century, after Apr.30 1975 the communist of Viet Nam call it their independence day, but millions of people continue to suffer in labor camp and starve to death. Untold millions risked their lives to escape their own country to seek refuge and to find freedom. Ho Chi Minh is a hero, only to those communist gang NOT to the people of VIETNAM.
My Family and I are a victims of Ho Chi Minh’s regime and of the Communist Party.

  6. Naiwen says:

Or for his people, he is their light and saviour.

  7. Anonymous Joe says:

Blaming Ho Chi Minh for the Vietnam War is ….. just weird.

    • john doe says:

I’m not advocating everything Ho Chi Minh did because he was behind brutal crimes during the war but in terms of starting it no way, he was a revolutionary, he spent decades trying to peacefully to get France to de-colonise before deciding to kick them out. Then the U.S. basically installed and supported a puppet government way worse than Ho Chi Minh then when he moved South to re-take control the U.S. shouted communism its infecting the world lets go. So yeah saying he started the war is not only wrong its oversimplification.

  8. Naiwen says:

Nonsense, USA started the war with Vietnam & invaded them.

    • AtheistAgainstCommunism says:

Nonsense, Ho Chi Minh started the division of Vietnam and became a dictator. North Vietnam, funded by the Soviet Union, started the war and South Vietnam only wanted to fight back.
Research some history before you talk.

  9. Tahir says:

I have gone through the list but it is based on partial and one-sided information. Everyone has been considered for millions of lives but the root cause is hidden deliberately.
Any student of int’l politics will not agree you and he can see what is between the lines.
Please don’t mis-lead the generations by these false stories. Don’t wrap the truth just for money.
Believe me a day will surely come when the coming generations have pay for today’s misdeeds.

  10. Milron says:

the list is historically wrong and incomplete. Lenin was not a head of government, therefore was not a dictator. Ho Chi Min has not the word city.
Where is Pinochet of Chile? Moubarak of Egipt, the Saudi dinasty of Saudi Arabia? Batista of Cuba? Somoza of Nicaragua? Stroessner of Paraguay? Military junta of Brazil?
Where are the source for the numbers of deaths and victims?

    • ZomgB says:

Pinochet, Mubarak and company did not reach millions of kills like the ones on the list did. Their reign is bloody but they did not qualify for the all time top scores.

  11. Pozor Pepo says:

Polpot was not communist, but comunist ideology influenced “revolutionarist” in the sickest meaning. Also Lenin on list is on deepest debate. And some minor missing…
